Born out of the mighty traditional Irish music sessions of Oulu in 2003, The Soap Pig are a dynamic, exciting, and talented traditional Irish music band with vast musical skills. The lads form a unique array of melodic rhythms and arrangements of traditional tunes from the many musically rich areas of Ireland fused with original tunes they have written.
The synergy of pipes and fiddle, the driving force of the mandolin and bouzouki, and the rhythm of the bodhrán make for an energetic evening of music and fun. The group also performs old Irish songs of immigration, love, oppression, and the fight for independence passed down through the generations sung in English and Irish.
The Soap Pig are Markus Lampela (uilleann pipes, tin whistle, vocals), Brent Ó Caiside (bodhran, vocals), Anthony Johnson (fiddle), Jorma Mäkitalo (mandolin, mandola, vocals), and Jani Suvanto (bouzouki, guitar).
Come out and enjoy a night of great music and fun with the Pigs.
